She also liked the way it was positioned in the bedroom and thought that its grey colour is a good fit for modern homes. However, she pointed that it's not a great idea to rock a younger baby, as it can create the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to provide the best sleep possible. It has a drop side rail which can be easily lowered for nighttime feeds without having to wake your child or get them out of bed - it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It's also light, making it easy to move around the house during naps and when traveling.
We love that it's made of soft fabrics with mesh sides that are breathable, which promote airflow and ease of use. It is available in oak or charcoal with a variety of melange fabrics that can be incorporated with most decor styles. Anna found it sturdy and secure when attached to her bed, with the legs firmly snapping into the frame and the zips securely secured to ensure baby safety. It took her around 10 minutes to assemble it and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or support contact number should you have any problems.
The CoZee crib comes with all the features you would expect from a crib to your bed, including the ability to attach it to your bed with a stay-in-place connection system. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings as well as legs that retract to installation underneath any bed.
Our testers were impressed with the simple access to the side panel that can be flipped up and down with just one push of the button. This was a huge help during feeding times at night as it meant that they could easily reach in and take their baby away without disturbing them up.
The side panel can be lowered by itself however it isn't recommended as this increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. The safety locking system ensures that the side panel will only remain in place if it's attached correctly to the mattress of the parent. This is an excellent feature to have for peace of mind, particularly in the case of breastfeeding and frequent feedings at night.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, including divan bases as well as beds with drawers. It also has a tilting function to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking mode that can soothe them back to sleep after feeding. It's also very large and offers excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, although it does have quite an extensive instruction manual. It's heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, however it's very portable and can be moved from room room with ease. It's small enough to fit into its travel bag when not in use, which is an advantage when you have to transport it. The only thing our testers found is that the side panel did not flex as much compared to other models. This made it a bit harder to see your baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're in search of an ideal bedside crib that can grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth looking into. It's a co-sleeping crib that is securely attached to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot once your baby is old enough. Ideal for feeding at night and strengthening the bond you have with your new born.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, which is different from other models. Its dual-view mesh sides and airflow mattress that is breathable and hypoallergenic maximize airflow to keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope helps ease reflux and colic. The zipper-down side lets you to feed your baby, or even comfort them at night.
The conversion kit for cots (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear instructions and everything you need to begin. It took us an hour to put together and was fairly straightforward. The only drawback was the lack of written captions on a few of the images which made it difficult to understand some of the steps. Overall, the procedure was easy and the materials used were of high quality.
In co-sleeping mode we found the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent choice for breastfeeding mums and women who have had a C-section because it lets them easily reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to climb out of their bed. It's great for parents who don't want to deal with the burden of putting their infant in a traditional cot, or getting them out of it.
In our tests we observed the gliding motion of the next-to-me crib to be particularly helpful when it comes to getting babies to sleep after feedings at midday and in the evening. The drop-down sides make it easy to feed or soothe babies throughout the night. This was a big selling point for our exhausted test moms. The Joie Roomie Glide is a elegant and practical crib that doesn't rock or have extra features such as the sound machine.
